November 2, 2016
ACEP and ISER hosted a group of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ researchers and agency data mangers to discuss the merits and logistics of storing all publicly available data collected on ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ communities in one database warehouse.
An existing database portal exists for energy information in ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ titled, and this may serve as a model for a new portal.
Data Collection & Management Program Manager Erin Whitney and ISER Assistant Professor
of Natural Resource Management and Policy Jen Schmidt led the workshop which was sponsored
by the U.S. Arctic Research Commission.
While the logistical issues of storing and managing the enormous amount of data has
not yet been solved, this topic will continue with further discussion.
