Solar Installation to Add ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥-Specific Irradiance Data
ACEP research engineer Chris Pike recently deployed a new Campbell Scientific weather station in Interior ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ as part of the ACEP Solar Technology Program’s solar irradiance ground measurement campaign.
Most solar irradiance measurements in ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ are either modeled based on cloud observations or derived from satellite data and need ground truthing for calibration. ACEP’s long-term goal is to develop an ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥-specific solar irradiance data set that can be used to produce more accurate solar photovoltaic performance estimates.
