Homeland Security and Emergency Management Program Earns Top Rankings

The ĄÖ»¢Ö±²„ā€™ online bachelorā€™s degree program in homeland security and emergency management has recently received top reviews in several college rankings. The program was ranked the number one bachelorā€™s degree in emergency management by and the number one homeland security degree program by .

UAF College of Business and Security Managementā€™s homeland security and emergency management program boasts approximately 250 undergraduate and graduate students.

ā€œA key factor in our recognition is the practitioner-based focus of our full-time instructors and adjuncts, who are highly experienced in their respective fields,ā€ said Cam Carlson, associate dean for CBSM. ā€œOur diverse student population also contributes to the excellence of our programs. As job opportunities in the homeland security and emergency management fields grow, we will continue expanding our programs to better prepare individuals who aspire to employment or promotion in those fields.ā€

In addition to the Bachelor of Security and Emergency Management, the HSEM program offers the Master of Security and Disaster Management, which recently added a concentration in climate security. HSEM has also introduced several new graduate certificates in Arctic security, business continuity, cybersecurity management and strategic leadership. The programā€™s most recent offering is an occupational endorsement in homeland security. All HSEM programs can be completed online.
