Dr. Amy L. Vinlove
Dean of the School of Education, Emeritus
WHEREAS Dr. Amy L. Vinlove served the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ with distinction in teaching, research and public service from 1999 to 2025; and
WHEREAS Dr. Vinlove’s innovative teaching has enriched the experiences of countless education students; and she chaired the committees for four doctoral and 19 master’s degree candidates and served on the committees for 17 others; and
WHEREAS Dr. Vinlove is a state and national leader in the field of teacher preparation; and she has focused on developing effective place-based and culturally relevant teaching practices that incorporate insights from ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ Native communities; and she has worked with school districts across ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ to recruit and prepare teachers from their communities; and
WHEREAS Dr. Vinlove created a data-driven quality assurance system to sustain the School of Education’s accreditation; and she led development of an education-focused Ph.D. program that advances UAF’s effort to be a top-rated research institution; and she served on a policy board for a Fairbanks charter school and on the board of the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ expresses its deep appreciation to Dr. Amy L. Vinlove for her extensive contributions to the state of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ and to the university; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Dr. Vinlove and as evidence of the university’s desire that her identification with the university be maintained, hereby salutes the appointment of Dr. Amy L. Vinlove as dean of the School of Education, emeritus; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the chancellor of the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ as further evidence of the esteem and respect in which he holds Dr. Amy L. Vinlove, and conveyed to Dr. Vinlove on this third day of May, 2025.
