UAF Chancellor Dan White will host his annual holiday gathering in the UAF Wood Center
featuring live music, food, and beverages. All employees are invited to celebrate
the season together. A box will be available for attendees to drop off nonperishable

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity congratulates the four
undergraduate students who received a Fall 2023 Travel Award to actively participate
in a gathering of their professional peers this semester. Read more about the recipients and the award.
On Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon, Greta Ferloni will speak in Akasofu 401
about the six months she spent at IARC analyzing ship data as part of her Ph.D. studies.
Findings indicate that vessel traffic has been increasing in the Bering Strait region.

UA Procurement and Contract Services closed Dec. 7
UA P&CS will be closed all day on Dec. 7 for a full staff retreat. The office will
operate for normal business hours again on Dec. 8.
