Large Animal Research Station begins winter tours

The Large Animal Research Station will begin its winter tour season on Thursday, Oct. 24, and offer tours most Thursdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Dec. 19. All tickets must be purchased online at uaf.edu/lars. Learn more about the tours.

Food preservation workshops in Tok

Tok-area residents can learn to preserve meat, fish and vegetables and make yogurt, sausage and jerky in a series of workshops led by the 乐虎直播 Cooperative Extension Service. Leslie Shallcross, a health, home and family development agent in Fairbanks, will teach the classes at the Interior 乐虎直播 Campus Tok Center on West 1st St. Learn more and register for the workshops.

Anthropology Colloquium: Dozandri Mendoz

On Friday, Oct. 25 from 3-5 p.m., Dozandri Mendoza will explain via a their linguistic and semiotic anthropological work in the Puerto Rican Ballroom scene, explaining how vogue styles become recognizable and (re)performable by different members of the performance circuit through intimate kinship ties. UAF Summer Sessions is offering a non-credit beaded earring workshop for adults using beads and wire on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $175 and materials are provided. Learn more and register.
