Emergency alert test scheduled Thursday

UAF will test its emergency notification system on Thursday, Jan. 30. Between 1 and 2 p.m., employees and students at all UAF locations, including rural campuses and sites, will receive one or more test messages. Learn more about the emergency alert test.

Pike use marine corridors to colonize new ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ territory

Northern pike are moving through salt water to invade freshwater habitats in Southcentral ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥, according to a new study. It's the first known documentation that northern pike are traveling through estuaries, where fresh water from rivers mixes with the ocean, to colonize new territory in North America. Museum to host open house Feb. 1

The University of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ Museum of the North will host its annual open house on Saturday, Feb. 1, from noon to 4 p.m. Learn more about the free event.


New Remote Work Agreement form released

A new Remote Work Agreement form that aligns with the Regulation changes is now available. All employees with a previous remote work agreement on file must complete the new form by Jan. 31, 2025. In early January, UA HR will contact employees via email who currently have a remote work agreement on file and need to complete the new form. Read more on the new form requirement.


Limited submission funding opportunity for DOE research

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research is soliciting white papers for the DOE Plasma Science and Engineering call for proposals. UAF can submit two proposals of $900,000. White papers are due Jan. 31 at 5 p.m.
