Anchorage, Kenai panels will discuss carbon capture, storage

Emergency alert test scheduled Thursday

UAF will test its emergency notification system on Thursday, Jan. 30. Between 1 and 2 p.m., employees and students at all UAF locations, including rural campuses and sites, will receive one or more test messages. Learn more about the emergency alert test.

Proposals sought for URSA Summer 2025 Mentor Awards

Faculty, research staff, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students from all disciplines and UAF-affiliated campuses are invited to apply for up to $6,000 to engage undergraduate students on their research and creative projects taking place during the summer 2025 term. Learn more on how to apply.

Animals on campus

As we begin the spring 2025 semester, please keep in mind that UAF has a policy on Animals in University Buildings and on University Property (UAF Policy 05.09.001). A newly revised policy is underway and will be released in the coming months.

Apply: URSA Summer 2025 Student Project Awards

Undergraduate students planning to pursue creative projects or conduct research during the summer 2025 semester are invited to apply for funding. Applications will be accepted through March 2.

NextGen scholars receive $268,000 in scholarships

Three rockets will ignite Poker Flat's 2025 launch season

Pike use marine corridors to colonize new 乐虎直播 territory

Northern pike are moving through salt water to invade freshwater habitats in Southcentral 乐虎直播, according to a new study. It's the first known documentation that northern pike are traveling through estuaries, where fresh water from rivers mixes with the ocean, to colonize new territory in North America. Museum to host open house Feb. 1

The University of 乐虎直播 Museum of the North will host its annual open house on Saturday, Feb. 1, from noon to 4 p.m. Learn more about the free event.

New Remote Work Agreement form released

A new Remote Work Agreement form that aligns with the Regulation changes is now available. All employees with a previous remote work agreement on file must complete the new form by Jan. 31, 2025. In early January, UA HR will contact employees via email who currently have a remote work agreement on file and need to complete the new form. Read more on the new form requirement.

UAF's Center for Teaching and Learning will host its Month of Writing in February, an opportunity for anyone in the UAF community to join regular Friday writing sessions and make progress on their writing projects. Read more on how to participate in the Month of Writing.
