Happy New Year and happy new spring semester! Although the Arctic chill could arrive
again at any time, the warm weather and beautiful snowy conditions are making our
entry into 2025 one for the books. I hope everyone was able to enjoy a restful winter
break and return ready to hit the ground running. It is always a pleasure to see students
returning to campus, eager to make a final push through to May's graduation celebration.

topics for teaching in higher ed. Upon completion of these online courses, students

Working with students who present challenges can be demanding, but that’s often where
the most meaningful progress happens. In this informative and interactive webinar,
Disability Services staff from all three MAUs will use real-world scenarios to provide
faculty and staff with practical strategies and tools. This session on Monday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. will be 90 minutes, but we will remain online for discussion and to answer questions

Lisa Slaba has been hired as the new executive assistant and advisor to the chancellor.
In this role, Slaba reports directly to Chancellor Daniel White and provides in-depth
assistance to the chancellor on the administration and operations of UAF. Learn more about Slaba.
Dr. Rich Collins has announced his resignation as the director of the UAF Graduate
School and his intention to return to a tenured faculty position.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2025 Chancellor's Cornerstone Award. The award
recognizes UAF staff members who have shown outstanding and ongoing commitment to
