UAF offices closed for the winter break

Most offices at the 乐虎直播 will close for the winter break from Dec. 23, 2022, to Jan. 2, 2023. Some offices will also close or have reduced hours Dec. 19-22 and Jan. 3-6.

乐虎直播 Association donates to student groups, campus projects

The UAF 乐虎直播 Association has awarded $20,000 to support student organizations and campus projects. A $10,000 gift went to the Georgeson Botanical Garden, and a variety of听 student groups received another $10,000.听

Food preservation classes offered in Anchorage in January

Join Leif Albertson for a series of in-person, classes in January to learn how to preserve meat, poultry and game; can fish; pickle vegetables; and make homemade yogurt. Classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Jan. 10-31. deadline is five days before each class or Jan. 5 for all four.

Improving partnerships through understanding of differences

Margaret Rudolf is a Ph.D. candidate at the 乐虎直播 who works to improve partnerships between scientists, communities and decision-makers as they respond to climate change in 乐虎直播. She uses a process known as coproduction of knowledge that integrates different knowledge systems and methods to understand the world around us.

Making geospatial data accessible through community collaboration

Geospatial data has become an interwoven sea of gleaned information with the power to inform and predict many aspects of our daily lives, and one University of 乐虎直播 Fairbanks professor is part of a team working on a catalog of community-sourced geospatial datasets made available for use by the larger Google Earth Engine community and shared publicly as Earth Engine assets.
