Since 2016, the Biomedical Learning and Student Training program at UAF has highlighted
scientists from all biomedical fields through its Scientist of the Month articles.
BLaST Scholar and UAF biological sciences undergraduate student Shadrach Stitz was
selected as the March 2023 BLaST Scientist of the Month.

Ìýin this Zoom session on Thursday, March 23 from 2-3:30 p.m., where we will discuss the benefits, complexities, and considerations that OER creators
must take when creating Indigenous OERs that support curriculum development. Kayla Lar-Son holds a Bachelor of Native Studies and a Masters of Library and Information
Studies from the University of Alberta. Her professional areas of focus include Indigenous
librarianship, Indigenous data sovereignty, and embedded librarianship with Indigenous
communities.
UAF has partnered with the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium to administer
a diversity and equity campus climate survey to the entire UAF community. This survey
asks students, faculty, staff and administrators about their perceptions and experiences
related to diversity, inclusion, discrimination, and harassment at UAF. The survey
takes about 15 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous. A survey invitation email was sent on Feb. 14 and a reminder was sent Feb. 28. Each
participant was sent an individualized link that cannot be shared with others. Search

A $2.9 million federal grant will expand broadband internet access at the University

This on Tuesday, March 21 from 3-4 p.m. is for learning about credit. Students can learn what credit is, how to improve their
credit score, and how credit can be used to reach financial goals. UAF Financial Aid
is presenting the workshop with Sallie Mae.
