During this course, students will learn the basics of knitting techniques, the language
used, and the materials involved. We will discuss the differences between Continental
and English-style knitting, learn the knit and the purl stitch, and understand how
to identify and fix mistakes. The course will also teach you about the materials and
tools involved in knitting and, most importantly, what’s needed and not needed to
knit and finish a project. Participants will knit a hat in class and leave with the
skills to keep on knitting! Yarn and needles will be provided. Returning students
can choose between making another hat or knitting a pair of mittens.

Description: Are you curious to try out the fastest-growing sport in the USA? Pickleball
is a net sport that takes elements of tennis and ping pong, combining them into a
game that is accessible for kids as well as senior citizens. This course will cover
the basics of serving, dinking, volleys, lobs, rules of gameplay, and more! Six sessions
will have you feeling confident to join in on Open and Relish Play with the Farthest
North Pickleball Club. Beware, this game is quite addicting and very social, too!
