ֱֻ Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week of Aug. 7-13:
- On Monday, Aug. 8, the Tall Timbers interview series will feature a conversation with prominent Fairbanks attorney Mary Nordale. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will lead the discussion, which will be at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of UAF’s Usibelli Building.
- On Tuesday, Aug. 9, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature nurse manager Ivy Hollinrake discussing “Resuming Normal Activity After a Heart Scare,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the Discover ֱֻ lecture series will feature Lenny Kamerling, professor of film emeritus at the University of ֱֻ Museum of the North, discussing “From Nanook to Atanarjuat: The Evolution of Recording Culture in the North,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, Aug. 11, the Music in the Garden concert series will host an evening of bluegrass standard with the E.T. Barnette String Band starting at 7 p.m. at UAF’s Georgeson Botanical Garden.
