And they come with chicken-scented drumstick charms, too.
In 2019, fried chicken had a major pop culture moment thanks to Popeyes’ ultra-popular chicken sandwich; in 2020, that trend has spread to the fashion world. A few weeks ago, the company decided to sell its employee uniforms to the general public, consisting of burgundy and orange sweatshirts, polos, t-shirts, visors, and more (all currently sold out online). Now, KFC, another fast food restaurant famous for its chicken, has teamed up with Crocs for a launch of its own.
Enter KFC-themed clogs, which are inspired by the brand’s fried chicken buckets and come in two different, limited-edition styles. The first is a 4.5-inch-high shoe called the Kentucky Fried Chicken x Crocs Bucket Clog, which KFC describes as “avant-garde.” A fried chicken motif decorates the top of the shoe, while KFC’s signature red-and-white striped pattern is on the platform, complete with an illustration of Colonel Sanders peeking up from the sole. MLMA, a Korean musical and visual artist, wore a pair during fashion week; however, they won’t be sold to the general public. (Which is probably for the best, since they look pretty hard to walk in.)
The Kentucky Fried Chicken x Crocs Classic Clog, on the other hand, is modeled after the classic Crocs shape you’d see in stores. It’s a lot shorter than the platform clog, but still features the fried chicken motif and red-and-white bottoms—and if they sound up your alley, they’ll be available for fans to purchase this spring. The shoes will be sold in unisex sizes for $59.99 per pair, and you can sign up on the official Crocs website to find out when they launch.
