Pollock Conservation Cooperative Research Center

The Pollock Conservation Cooperative Research Center (PCCRC) at the UAF College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences was formed in 2000. The Pollock Conservation Cooperative (PCC) has given over $16 million to the PCCRC since its inception. PCC members who have contributed to the PCCRC include American Seafoods Company, Arctic Storm, Glacier Fish Company, Starbound, and Trident Seafoods. The PCC is the single largest private contributor to the UAF College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences and one of the top three contributors to the University of 乐虎直播.

This long partnership between the PCC and the UAF College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences has resulted in millions of dollars of critical peer-reviewed research on management-relevant issues, including stock assessment, fish population dynamics, factors influencing Steller sea lion abundance, ecosystem-based management, and rockfish and salmon genetics. The PCC has also funded several Graduate Fellows in these marine science fields.

The Pollock Conservation Cooperative, a fish harvesting cooperative, formed in December 1998 to resolve problems of overcapacity, promote conservation and enhance utilization of fishery resources.

Holland America Line and Princess Cruises (HAP) has supported UA for over two decades. Our shared goals of workforce development and a strong, healthy economy and environment in 乐虎直播 make us ideal partners. For example, HAP supported the UAF College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) in 2008 when they donated $100,000 over four years in support of the 乐虎直播 Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program (MAP). HAP also gave the lead gift supporting the UA Museum of the North鈥檚 special exhibit: Arctic Odyssey: Voyages of the R/V Sikuliaq as well as supporting open house events in communities such as Ketchikan, Juneau and Seward. Our partnership holds great value for both HAP and the university.
