Associate of Science Degree
The Associate of Science Degree (AS degree) is a two year program designed to complete the major core requirements of a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS degree). It is a broad based course of study which includes English, communication, math, science and humanity course requirements. The minimum requirements for the degree are 60 credits.; All of the concentration electives are math and science based classes.

Students in the human services program receive skills-based training within a foundation of theory. After completing foundation courses, students select an area of concentration from the following: addictions counseling, behavioral health, or interdisciplinary concentration. Students learn interviewing and assessment, case management, crisis intervention, group counseling techniques, and other specific skills needed within their concentration area. Our program, is offered at both the Interior ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ Campus (IAC) in Fairbanks and the Kuskokwim Campus (KuC) in Bethel.

The Rural Human Service (RHS) Certificate Program is a 34-credit University of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ academic program developed for ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ village-based human service providers. It is intended for rural residents who are natural helpers and healers in their communities, and it is designed to help further develop skills and credentials in the helping profession. RHS offers a culturally appropriate training program designed for rural, village-based human service workers. In response to the broad variety of job-related skills needed by tribal councils, administrators and staff, the Tribal Governance AAS degree and Tribal Management certificate programs are designed to allow students to specialize their education for specific employment-related skills. Our program provides students with fundamental knowledge of tribal governance, law, policy and management through academic and hands-on education.
