Manage my UA Username Account
UA Account is your key to accessing computer services and electronic resources at University of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥. One username and one password to get into every University service.
University of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ is using - self-service tool - to establish or change one's UA Username and Password.
Options to change Password
This option provides a quick way to change your password if you already know your
information.
Use this option if you received an email telling you your password is about to expire.
- Visit and Login.
- On the 'Welcome' page, change your password on the right under 'Password Reset'. In the Username pull down menu, select your UA Username.
- Type a password in the 'New Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields. When your new password conforms to the requirements, the red X's will turn into green check marks.
- When you have a good password, Select the Set Password button.
- In the upper left, select Sign Out.
This option allows you to provide your UA Username or UA ID #, verify some basic questions
about your identity, and then change your password.
If you've forgotten your password, this is the most common option for retrieval.
- Visit and select Forgot Password.
- Enter your UA Username or ID # and select Reset Password.
- Depending on your Security Settings (See Additional Topics below) you may be asked your Custom UA Security Questions. Enter your response and select the Confirm button.
- On the 'Welcome' page, change your password on the right under 'Password Reset'. In the Username pull down menu, select your UA Username.
- Type a password in the 'New Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields. When your new password conforms to the requirements, the red X's will turn into green check marks.
- When you have a good password, Select the Set Password button.
- In the upper left, select Sign Out.
This option allows you to provide some basic information about yourself and your identity,
to discover your UA Username and UA ID # and establish a password.
This is most commonly used among new students, staff, and faculty members to set up
their accounts for the first time.
- Visit and select Lookup Username/ID.
- Using the pull down menus, select your birth date, enter your last name, enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number, and then select Recover Username.
- If you have previously set them up, you will be asked your Custom UA Security Questions. Enter your answers and select Confirm.
- On the 'Welcome' page, change your password on the right under 'Password Reset'. In the Username pull down menu, select your UA Username.
- Type a password in the 'New Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields. When your new password conforms to the requirements, the red X's will turn into green check marks.
- When you have a good password, Select the Set Password button.
- In the upper left, select Sign Out.
Reset my password
This option allows you to provide your UA Username or UA ID #, verify some basic questions about your identity, and then change your password. If you've forgotten your password, this is the most common option for retrieval.

Setting Up Your UA Username account in ELMO
For new UA Users. claim your UA Username and set a password.
- Get Started - Visit . Select Lookup Username/ID. Answer vetting questions, then select Recover Username. This will take you to the ELMO 'Welcome' page. Notice your UA ID and UA Username in the upper right.
- Set Security Settings - In the upper left of the ELMO ‘Welcome’ page, select Security Settings. These settings are important because they determine what happens if you ever forget
your password and need to reset it. Choose to either Enable Self Service Security (2 options) or Disable Self Service Security.

- Choose Email Destination -Under ‘Email Destination’ set the location of where email will be sent, either to ‘UA Google’ account or forwarded to an ‘Other’ destination. UA Employees may only forward their UA Google email to other UA email addresses. Students may forward their email to any ‘Other’ email account, though NookTech recommends setting email destination to ‘UA Google’ to minimize any issues with shared documents, calendar invites, or other Google services. Save Settings and confirm that your Email destination has been set.
- Set a Password -On the right side of the screen under ‘Password Reset’ set a password that contains at least 8 characters, one number, and one upper-case letter. Select Set Password.
- Verify Username/ID - On the ‘Welcome ‘ page you should see your UA ID Number and UA Username displayed on the left side of your screen. Memorize this. It is your login for Blackboard, Google Apps @ UA Email, NetReg, and Computer Lab accounts.
- Sign Out - In upper left, select Sign Out to begin using your UA Username and Password across all UA services!​

ELMO Security Settings Set Up
- To change ELMO Security Settings, first login in to .
- After arriving at the ELMO Welcome page, in upper left select Security Settings. Here you can set your security question(s) and response(s), and view your current response(s).
- Choose to either 'Enable Self-Service Security (2 Options)’ or 'Disable Self-Service
Security’.

Accounts for new students are automatically created up to 72 hours after students have registered for classes.
New Employees
Accounts for new employees are automatically created once their employment information has been entered into the Banner System and their start date has passed.

As a member of the University community, you are provided a University email address. Students are allowed to redirect email messages elsewhere. Employees may redirect their email messages, but only to another UA email address. To update the final destination of your UA emails do the following:

Google Apps @ UA is the intuitive, easy-to-use suite of services used by the University of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥.
Every newly registered University of ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ student has a Google Apps email account
automatically created. The account can accessed using your UA Username and the password
you set up in ELMO. Your new email address will be your UA Username followed by @alaska.edu,
and features unlimited storage.
The University will only send communications to your official university email account
on Google Apps @ UA... so check it or !

is a website designed to provide 24-hour access to course materials and assignments. Many (although not all) instructors use Blackboard. Within Blackboard you can turn in homework, take quizzes and tests, communicate with your fellow students via Discussion Boards, view your grades, and much more.
Blackboard Mobile Learn is free and works on most smart mobile devices. Load the application onto your device and search for ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥, then login with your UA Username and password.

The UA Domain is the authentication and computer management system for the UA System. At UAF and Statewide, the UA Domain is used for logging into Computers, managing access to Shared Drives, and distributing Software. The UA Domain uses the UA Username and password set in ELMO.
Access to Shared Drives is requested using an Account Request Form.
